Working for our community

Pannal Village Society was formed in 1994 to represent its community and to fulfil the following aims:

The society's purpose is to protect and preserve the character, and environment of Pannal and Burn Bridge. We disseminate information on matters relevant to the village and promote discussion on them. We are particularly interested in planning matters such as Local Development Plans and individual planning applications where their impact on the village would be significant.

The Society runs social events such as quiz nights, lectures, talks, outings and walks. Pannal Village Society has approximately 600 members and charges a small subscription to cover admin and running costs. Membership of the Society is open to any person who agrees with the aims of the Society.

The Society, through a number of volunteers tends the gardens at Pannal Station, keeps areas of the village weed free, plants bulbs and other such activities. In 2009 and 2010 we funded the enhancement of the Christmas lights on Pannal Green
